When we talk about "riches" here, we're not really discussing the vast and incomparable wealth of Christ's essence, his nature's perfections, or his dominion over all creatures, although those are part of his durable treasures. We're also not referring to earthly riches, which Christ has at his disposal but doesn't often share lavishly with his followers, nor are we talking about temporal wealth, which is fleeting. Instead, what we truly mean are the riches of grace — the redeeming, justifying, pardoning, and sanctifying kind of wealth. These are the spiritual treasures, and they include the unimaginable glory that awaits in the afterlife.

As for "honor," it's not about the divine honor Christ inherently possesses, which can't be shared, and it's certainly not about temporal honor, since his followers are often far from the world's elites and more commonly seen as outsiders. The honor Christ bestows is spiritual — being united with him, becoming children of God through him, being made into kings and priests for God, and reigning with him forever.

Durable riches and righteousness also come into play here. Some see this righteousness as an attribute of riches, positioning it against wealth that's ill-gotten or poorly used. But it's more aptly viewed as something Christ uniquely possesses and bestows: his justifying righteousness.
